By Lynda Sturner****LaLa loves summer in Ptown. The snow is over, days are longer and The Lobster Pot and Spiritius Pizza are open. Bring it on! You can feel it in the air. Commercial Street is getting ready. They’re paving the sidewalks, painting the decks and the Cabaret venues have announced their 2019 schedules.
So print this column out or save it online. Keep it handy to plan your long hot evenings, where anything goes in this “best of all possible towns.”
To kick off the Summer Season, Ptown came to life with the Provincetown CabaretFest 2019, from May 29-June 1, so there’s plenty of time to catch these great shows and performers:

Mark Cortale has a whopper of a season. Seth Rudetsky, the man I call Mr. Broadway, is returning with a lineup you can only dream about. Rudetsky, one of the most skilled interviewers around, gets his stars to tell all and sing their most popular songs. You watch them on an intimate stage, which sometimes feels like you’re sitting in your own living room.

LaLa is excited, thrilled and can’t wait for the newest hot spot in town to open in early June. Ptown favorite and star of the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black,” Lea DeLaria and her partner, Frank Christopher, owner of New York City’s Smoke Jazz and Super Club, bought the Pied, a longtime fabulous girls dance club and are transforming it into The Club, A Jazz and Supper Club. Two shows a night, featuring among others DeLaria, Billy Hough, Justin Vivian Bond, Rachel Ray Jones and lots and lots of food, glorious food.
