Ambassador Productions & Provincetown CabaretFest 2019 is proud to present Marieann Meringolo & Warren Schein, as part of this year’s featured concerts. Provincetown CabaretFest 2019, (May 29 – June 2, 2019) is an annual event, which this year, stated producers Patricia Fitzpatrick & James Locke, “promises to be the biggest festival to date with over 40 cabaret performers, musicians & master class coaches descending on Ptown for our four-day festival.” Celebrating its 19th year, CabaretFest has grown to become the largest gathering of cabaret performers in New England. CabaretFest is popular with theatre-goers & audiences who cherish an intimate evening of live music, woven  together with patter, warmth, wit & feelings.

MAC & Bistro Award-winning vocalist, Marieann Meringolo, making her Provincetown debut, will present a new show, Marieann Meringolo Explores the 60’s – from Warwick to Mathis to Legrand & more, on Saturday June 1 at 4pm at Pilgrim House. Song titles include “The Windmills of Your Mind,” “The April Fools,” “Theme from Valley of the Dolls” & “I Love Being Here with You.”

Coming off a 2019 MAC nomination for Major Female Artist, Marieann has been receiving critical acclaim for both her live show appearances at Feinstein’s/54 Below, The Iridium & Jazz at Lincoln Center, to her latest CD, Between Yesterday and Tomorrow : The Songs of Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Marieann has also toured with the late comedian David Brenner & headlined on cruise ships around the world.

Will Friedwald noted in The Wall Street Journal, that “The music of the Bergmans, as movingly realized by Marieann Meringolo, transports us to a better and more ideal world!” Stephen Holden of the New York Times called wrote that “’Meadowlark,’ the Stephen Schwartz Ballad from The Baker’s Wife, needs a substantial voice to do it justice. Meringolo delivered one of the two or three strongest renditions I can remember!”  

Warren Schein

Warren Schein  has entertained audiences on stages throughout the United States & Europe for decades. He has performed his one-man shows, Remembering Mel: A Musical Tribute to Mel Tormé & Spend An Evening with Mr. Saturday Night, a medley of timeless music & comedy to sold-out audiences throughout the country. Mr. Schein garnered glowing reviews from his show From the Borscht Belt to Broadway, which includes a tribute to entertainer extraordinaire, Al Jolson.

In the theatre, Warren has played leading roles Off-Broadway & regionally, including Max Bialystock in The Producers, Luther in South Pacific, Buddy in Follies, Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls,  Sancho in Man of La Mancha & Micky in Sugar Babies. Other regional credits include Fiddler on the Roof, The Odd Couple, Plaza Suite, Oklahoma & The Music Man.

Warren has been the voice of the Pillsbury Doughboy, the Rice Krispy M&M, the leprechaun for Lucky Charms & appeared on TV ads for the History Channel, AMC, A&E, Nick at Night & WPLJ Radio. He appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” “Boardwalk Empire, “Law & Order” & in the films, The Stepford Wives, Dark Room The Orphan King. Warren enjoys a jazzy evening, Rhythm, Reeds & Brass, with a nineteen-piece big band that offered selections from the Great American Songbook. The list of performers he has opened for & performed with is impressive, sharing the stage many times with Danny Kaye, Rodney Dangerfield, Tony Martin, Red Buttons, Larry Storch, Totie Fields, Joey Bishop, Buddy Hackett & the comedy/music teams of Marty Allen & Steve Rossi, Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara, Tony Sandler & Ralph Young, to name a few. He is a master of improvisational comedy.

Jan Wallman said of Warren, “the voice is true & beautiful, the phrasing elegant & he never crosses that that fine line between emulation & imitation.”

Warren, along with musical director Tom LaMark, will debut his Dream Along with Me – The Perry Como Songbook, at  the Provincetown Art House Theater on Saturday, June 1 @ 7pm. He will also host the Open Mic Party: Come Together on Thursday, May 30th at 8pm-midnight at The Harbor Hotel.
