Actor Joel Grey to receive the First “Performer of the Decade Award” from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Provincetown CabaretFest 2019 on May 30th

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, House of Representatives and Ambassador Productions  (producers of CabaretFest) announced the presentation of their first Performer of the Decade Award to Mr. Joel Grey. on Thursday, May 30th.

Grey, who established the role of MC in the 1963 Broadway production of Cabaret is a onsummate performer who has – by his creation of this iconic role – promoted and propelled the art of Cabaret to a wide audience. Joel recently directed the award-winning musical, Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, currently running Off-Broadway.

The presentation will be made at the Press Luncheon at Pilgrim House, Provincetown on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at noon, during the Provincetown CabaretFest 2019.

Provincetown CabaretFest 2019, (May 29 – June 2, 2019) is an annual event, which this year, stated producers Patricia Fitzpatrick and James Locke, “promises to be the biggest festival to date with over 40 cabaret performers, musicians and master class coaches descending on Ptown for our four-day festival.” Celebrating its 19th year, CabaretFest has grown to become the largest gathering of cabaret performers in New England. CabaretFest is popular with theatre-goers and audiences who cherish an intimate evening of live music, woven  together with patter, warmth, wit and feelings.
