Cape Air has announced that it will begin offering seasonal service between Nantucket Memorial Airport and Barnstable Municipal Airport to JFK International Airport in New York City. A daily round-trip will begin on October 23, 2018 and continue through mid-May, 2019. Travel will be from either Hyannis or Nantucket, to JFK.

“We are excited to be able to offer the Cape & Islands the option to connect to JFK during the shoulder seasons,” said Linda Markham, President of Cape Air. “We are all about connecting communities, so creating a means of easy access between Nantucket, Hyannis and Metropolitan New York has been a priority. Having this new service grow from planning to launch has been a rewarding process for all of us at Cape Air.”

The daily roundtrip service will be aboard Cape Air’s Cessna 402, which is a nine passenger, twin-engine aircraft.

“This is great news for our island community,” said Tom Rafter, Airport Manager of Nantucket Memorial Airport. “Providing additional connectivity to the national system during off-peak season has been a primary goal of the airport.  This new service will allow islanders and visitors greater opportunities to connect to more flights making it easier to get to and from Nantucket year-round.“

“The Barnstable Municipal Airport is thrilled that our aviation partners can provide the Cape and Island community with quality off-peak service to points further south, as year-round service to New York has been a great community need,” said Katie Servis, Airport Manager of Barnstable Municipal Airport. “The partnership with Jet Blue means that connections to the National Airspace System can be made with ease with one-stop airline shopping that all starts on Cape Cod!”

Cape Air has agreements with most major carriers making travel through JFK simple with baggage check-through and a single itinerary.  For more information or to book your ticket visit www.capeair.com
